LRU

The LRU policy evicts the least-recently-used page when the algorithm wants more space. This means the algorithm must keep track of the order of most recently used pages, which can be expensive to implement.

Colors

• The most recently accessed (MRU) page is red
• The least recently accessed (LRU) page is blue
• The pages in between are a mix of these two colors
